Story of Ein Beit al-Ma: the first refugee camp

Ein Beit al-Ma, also called Camp No. 1, is the first Palestinian refugee camp in the West Bank and Gaza, established in 1948 on land belonging to Nablus.

The camp was created in 1948 on the north-western edge of Nablus, near the spring that gave it its name. Like other West Bank camps it preserves the names of the villages its families came from.
