About the site

Buqjah is a non-profit digital heritage archive: it collects and displays stories, photographs, documents and recordings related to Palestinian heritage. Using the site means you accept these terms.

Ownership and licensing

Each archive item states its own licence. Where an open licence is given (e.g. CC BY-NC), copying and sharing is allowed with attribution and without commercial use. The logo, site name and design belong to the project and may not be used in a way that implies endorsement or partnership without permission.

Visitor submissions

By submitting, you confirm that you own the material or have the rights holders’ permission, and you grant the project the right to review it, edit it without changing its meaning, publish and archive it with attribution. You may ask us to withdraw a submission at any time and we will stop displaying it.

Acceptable use

• Do not submit abusive or misleading content, or content that violates others’ rights or privacy.
• Do not attempt to disrupt the site or access the dashboard or user data.
• Do not republish protected material without its licence.

Accuracy

We record oral accounts as told by their narrators; accounts may differ or contain errors. Corrections and documentation are welcome through the contact page.

Some pages may link to external sites we do not control; we are not responsible for their content or policies.

Limitation of liability

The site and its content are provided “as is” for cultural documentation. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service and are not liable for indirect damages arising from use. These terms are interpreted under applicable law.

Changes

We may update these terms; the last-updated date appears at the top. Continued use after an update means acceptance.
