Story of Zawata: the village spring and winter crops

A town 5 km north-west of Nablus with about 2,000 residents, known for winter vegetables and citrus irrigated from its springs.

Zawata has two mosques and two schools, and many of its people work in Nablus. Its main spring flows strongly in winter and weakens in summer, so farmers built pools and basins to store water.
