The story of Salfit: the market of the hills

The district’s villages trade first with Nablus, then Salfit; its industrial zone rose east of town.

An industrial zone of 0.2 km² was established east of Salfit, with infrastructure serving the district’s industrial and economic activity.

Before that, Salfit was the market of the villages around it: in a trade survey, the district’s villages turned first to Nablus and then to Salfit.

Alongside trade, libraries and universities shape the town’s cultural life — the Salfit municipal library, the community research and knowledge library, and the libraries of Al-Quds Open University and Khadouri University. The town keeps its story in books as it keeps it in the market.
